EN-EL15c batteries can move between the two bodies, which limits the cost for an existing Nikon user. The grips, by contrast, are different. An older computer can still process Z8 RAW files by generating previews or proxies, but time gained on the shoot may then be lost at the desk.
The useful question is: 'What would the difference fund elsewhere in my system?'
